Click on individual days for details

You have the option to book your flights separately or contact us quickly and easily via WhatsApp for a personal flight quote. If you book your flight separately, plan your arrival so that you arrive at the airport by afternoon at the latest, so that we can start our Namibia adventure together in the evening.

Please note that our Namibia trip does not consist exclusively of TripLegend guests. During the safari there may also be guests from our partners, so it is possible that families or guests who are younger or older are also included.

Our private shuttle will pick you up at the airport and we will drive to our accommodation in Windhoek to arrive in peace and get in the mood for the next days. In the evening we will get to know each other better at our joint Welcome Dinner.

  Chameleon Backpackers

Your highlight today: Meet Naankuse and meet the animals in the sanctuary for the first time

On the first full day we drive to the N/a'an ku sê (pronounced "Naankuse") Wildlife Sanctuary, a sanctuary for injured and orphaned wildlife. The animals are cared for and protected here, as their condition would otherwise make it difficult for them to survive in the wild. We as a group will support the staff on site for one week! We will stay overnight in safari cabins, equipped with private bathrooms under the open sky. This means you can gaze at the endless expanse of the Namibian starry sky directly from the outdoor shower. Be excited!

We are a few kilometers from the nearest major town, but there is 1 hour of internet 3 times a day at a central meeting point during the simple but delicious meals, should you wish to use it. This way you can fully immerse yourself in the Namibian wildlife during the rest of the day.

 N/a'an ku sê Wildlife Sanctuary

Your highlight today: e.g. feeding of the small animals at Naankuse Farm

Each day there will be different activities depending on which animals are on site at the time of your trip and for what reason. The sanctuary will divide you into groups that will rotate through different activities on weekdays - only the sanctuary will determine which activities are offered when and where your help is needed. Either way, there is a chance to learn a lot about Namibian wildlife and support a great project along the way. A unique experience you will never forget!

The following days offer you an overview of possible activities that will be carried out, depending on the situation on site. So be curious - it will not be boring in any case. Look forward to great animal encounters!

 Breakfast, lunch, dinner

 N/a'an ku sê Wildlife Sanctuary

Your highlight today: e.g. feeding the predators

After a common breakfast we will help diligently in the sanctuary. Cheetahs, leopards, lions and African wild dogs live here and you will see all these animals live up close! Among other things, you will feed orphaned or injured animals and learn how to take care of injuries. Since the Naankuse area wants to rehabilitate as many animals as possible, we will also take care of "Animal Enrichment". This is to care for the animals in such a way that they are prepared for a life in the wild. This is in store for them after they have fully recovered.

 Breakfast, lunch, dinner

 N/a'an ku sê Wildlife Sanctuary

Your highlights today: e.g. Help to keep the enclosures of the animals in the sanctuary clean

In addition to feeding the animals and helping with the work in the enclosures, we also have the opportunity to participate in various activities, depending on availability in the sanctuary. On site we will discuss when and if which activities are possible.

Breakfast, lunch, dinner

 N/a'an ku sê Wildlife Sanctuary

Your highlight today: e.g. looking out for the rhinos, if possible.

After your breakfast, enjoy one last full day at the Sanctuary. This Saturday there will be limited activities due to the weekend. Either help with feeding and cleaning the enclosures or relax by the pool. You may also get the opportunity to participate in an extra activity today, depending on availability at the Sanctuary.

Breakfast, lunch, dinner

 N/a'an ku sê Wildlife Sanctuary

Your highlight today: Enjoy the last day at the Sanctuary

Feeding and feeding the needy animals is of course also on the daily schedule on Sunday. Enjoy the last time for now to get so close to the animals and watch them eat their food. After 1-2 hours we are done with our tasks today and have the rest of the day to rest well deserved from the last days in the sanctuary and enjoy the facility. Optional: Be sure to take advantage of the lodge's available pool or book a delicious Sunday brunch at the lodge! You can also explore the beautiful surroundings of the sanctuary again or just enjoy the sun.

 Breakfast, lunch, dinner

 N/a'an ku sê Wildlife Sanctuary

Your highlight today: Experience Windhoek's culture up close on the City and Township Tour

That's it for our stay at Naankuse Sanctuary. Back to Windhoek where we will explore the city on a city and township tour. We will visit a local market and taste braii. The evening is yours to do as you wish - our guide will be happy to give tips on a delicious restaurant we can go to.

 Breakfast

private transfer (approx. 50 km/45 min.)

 Chameleon Backpackers

Your highlight today: Watch giraffes, rhinos, elephants, zebras and much more

Early in the morning we continue our journey towards Etosha National Park, a huge game reserve where we will have every opportunity to spot diverse wildlife. After arrival we will do our first game drive and drive to some water holes, which gives us high chances to see the animals and the wonderful landscape. Look forward to zebras, giraffes, rhinos, wildebeests, springboks and much more.

At the lodge we can have dinner at the open fire while enjoying the view of a waterhole nearby, where animals are always looking past.

 Breakfast, lunch, dinner

Jeep tour (approx. 4 hours), private transfer (approx. 500 km/5 hours)

 Halali Camp

Your highlight today: Experience a full day of safari adventure and enjoy the sunset at the waterhole

Today we have to get up early, but it's worth it, I promise! Early in the morning we have the best chance to see all the animals that live in this area. As the sun slowly rises, we make our way through the park and enjoy the morning light that bathes the whole area in a golden glow.

Our second game drive of the day takes us to the Etosha Pan, a huge dried up salt pan where we can again look for the big African animals: Lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants, giraffes and much more. Lunch will be taken at our lodge, where we will have plenty of time for a dip in the pool before heading out for our last game drive of the day.

 Breakfast, lunch, dinner

 3x jeep tour (1x approx. 100 km/3 hours, 2x approx. 50 km/1.5 hours)

 Etosha Village

Your highlights today: Meet the tribes of Damaraland and discover an ancient shipwreck

Today we say goodbye to the beautiful Etosha National Park and move on to Damaraland. On the way there we meet the Herero & Damara ladies who make and sell handmade arts and crafts. This is their way of supporting the rural communities. Afterwards we will have the chance to see the highest mountain in Namibia and an old shipwreck on the Skeleton Coast. In the afternoon we will arrive in a small town by the sea, Swakopmund. Here we will end the evening in a nice restaurant by the sea.

 Breakfast, lunch

private transfer (approx. 500 km/5 hours)

Hotel A La Mer

Your highlight today: Enjoy the sunset over the Naukluft mountains

Optionally you can go sandboarding or quad biking this morning, which we highly recommend! Afterwards we will drive through the vast Namib Desert and cross the Tropic of Capricorn in Solitaire. After we arrive at Desert Camp in the afternoon, you can sit back and relax or finally jump back into the pool and cool off a bit from the warm desert air. At sunset we will take a walk and enjoy the sweeping views of the Naukluft mountain range.

 Breakfast, dinner

private transfer (approx. 360 km/4 hours)

 Desert Camp

Your highlights today: Climb the highest dunes in the world and hike through the surreal Deadvlei

In order not to miss the beautiful sunrise in the Namib-Naukluft National Park, we will leave early. Be excited to see how the rising sun makes the desert landscape shimmer red-gold - a beautiful sight!

After enjoying the sunrise, we will drive a 4×4 jeep to Sossusvlei and hike from there to Deadvlei. Deadvlei is a large expanse of bleached, cracked clay and skeletal camel thorn trees contrasting with a backdrop of massive dunes. You have the choice of taking the leisurely path or detouring up the world's highest dune - "Big Daddy". From up there you can spy a wide view over the mystical valley.

You don't have to hike back down, gravity takes care of that: From the top you can slide down over the desert sand into Deadvlei - that's incredibly fun! On the way home we will stop at Dune 45, which we can also climb, and at a small canyon into which we will descend. A strenuous day, but well worth the effort!

 Breakfast, lunch, dinner

 private transfer (approx. 100 km/35 min.), 4×4 jeep (approx. 50 km/35 min.)

Dessert Camp

Your highlight today: Free time to discover the markets of Windhoek

Today we drive back to Windhoek and will be able to use the time on site to explore the city on our own and really immerse ourselves in the culture of the Namibian city. Perhaps you would like to check out the museum, or just stroll through the many markets? In the evening, we will gather for our last dinner together and review the many exciting experiences of our Namibia round trip.

 Breakfast

private transfer (approx. 400 km/4 hours)

 Chameleon Backpackers

After a last breakfast together it's time to say goodbye. We will drive to the airport and maybe you will be lucky enough to be on the same flight, or you will say goodbye to each other with a heavy heart. But the goodbye does not have to be forever, maybe we will see each other again soon on the next TripLegend adventure.

If you would like to extend your stay and explore the area further on your own, we will be happy to give you tips for additional activities and sightseeing.

 Breakfast

private transfer (approx. 50 km/45 min.)

If you book your flights separately, you can flexibly plan your return flight on the day of departure.

We'd love to have you back for the next adventure!

Your Guide

Gideon, Tinashe and Tulimo are three of our great guides, but it is possible that another equally great guide will accompany you on your trip. You will find out on site who will accompany you on your adventure and show you the beautiful facets of Namibia.

In addition to the standard vaccinations according to the RKI, travel vaccinations against hepatitis A, and for long-term stays or special exposure also against hepatitis B, typhoid, rabies and meningococcal disease (ACWY) are recommended. Malaria is transmitted by crepuscular and nocturnal Anopheles mosquitoes. A high risk of malaria exists year-round in the north and northeast of the country (Zambezi/Caprivi Strip, Kavango West, Kavango East, Ohangwena, north of Omusati, Oshikoto). A high risk of malaria can be expected in the Otjozondjupa district in the northeast of the country from September to May, and a low risk from June to August. A low risk exists year-round in the northwest including the Kunene District as well as Etosha National Park. In the rest of the country the malaria risk is minimal. Windhoek, the coast, the Namib Desert and the areas south of Karasburg are considered malaria-free. To avoid malaria, protect yourself consistently from insect bites as part of exposure prophylaxis. Depending on the travel profile, chemoprophylaxis (taking tablets) is also advisable in addition to the necessary exposure prophylaxis. Various prescription drugs (e.g. atovaquone-proguanil, doxycycline, mefloquine) are available on the German market for this purpose. Discuss the choice of medication and its personal adaptation as well as side effects or incompatibilities with other medications with a tropical medicine doctor or travel physician before taking it. It is recommended to take a sufficient supply with you.
